Our pupils who have been in the CHEXS Growth group this year took part in their final session, visiting a care setting in Cuffley.
The children enjoyed spending time with the residents, taking part in a variety of games and activities together. Throughout the session, they demonstrated the confidence, kindness and excellent communication skills they have developed over the course of the academic year.
On Monday 15th June 2026, we held our annual Careers Fair for Years 3-6. This year, there was an even wider range of careers for the children to learn about, including a clinical psychologist, a petrochemical trader, a dentist and a CGI specialist! The event was a huge success thanks to our Burleigh community volunteers. Here are some of the responses from the children:
Year 6 have had a fabulous start to their week long adventure at PGL.
The 'Nourish' team are currently working with Burleigh. They support schools to create a food environment that puts children and young people's nutrition first. Following their recent visit, Melanie Glickman from the Nourish team, said, "It was so great to be at Burleigh yesterday. We really enjoy the time we have with the children. There is a huge sense of joy when we walk around. It is wonderful."
On Wednesday 20th May, children can bring their favourite teddy bear to school and take part in our exciting Teddy Bear Mini Marathon during the school day!
FABS will be cheering everyone on around the course and there may even be a medal waiting at the finish line 🏅
We are suggesting a £3.50 donation per child to help raise funds for FABS and the school. Payments can be made via School Gateway.
Year 1 had a great day learning about the parts of a tree and how plants disperse their seeds and germinate.
Well done to our Year 4 Team who have taken part in the first heat of the Maths Challenge.
This friendly, online, inter-school competition gave the team the opportunity to apply their mathematics knowledge and teamwork skills to solve problems and answer challenging questions, whilst putting their reasoning skills to the test.
Each round relies on much more than mere mathematical calculation. The team was challenged with problem-solving, reasoning, estimation, visualisation and arithmetic from across the mathematics curriculum.
A group of our Year 6 pupils were invited to perform in a special concert at Bradby Hall, Haileybury, in Hatfield Heath.
Simply collect a template from your class teacher, then enjoy colouring. Don’t forget to write your name and class on the back of the sheet and ensure your entry is handed back to your class teacher by Monday 23rd March to be in with a chance to win.
Our school is just starting the process of working towards obtaining the 'Wellbeing Award for Schools'. This process will take the school between one year and eighteen months to complete.
As a starting point, we need to evaluate our current provision and would appreciate the views of our parents. Your views are important in helping us understand what we are doing well and how we can do better.
Below is a link to the parent survey. It should only take a couple of minutes and the survey will remain open until 8th April 2026.

On Wednesday 4th February, the Mayor for Broxbourne, Councillor Patsy Spears visited Burleigh school and met with the Burleigh Parliament. The children were able to ask Madam Mayor all about her life prior to becoming mayor and her current role and responsibilities. Everyone was surprised by how open and warm-hearted Cllr Spears was and we greatly appreciated her visit.
