Thursday 2nd October
This afternoon in Science, Year 4 watched evaporation and condensation in action! We first heated water using a kettle. We could see steam rising from the kettle - this was the water (a liquid) turning into water vapour (a gas). This is called EVAPORATION. After that, we poured the heated water into a glass bowl and covered it in cling film. We placed ice cubes on top of the cling film to cool the water vapour down. As the vapour cooled down, the gas turned back into a liquid and we observed water droplets gather on the glass bowl. This process is called CONDENSATION.
