This half term, we have been studying the work of Alberto Giacometti, focusing on his distinctive surrealist sculptures. We explored how Giacometti created elongated, fragile-looking figures and discussed form, texture and proportion.
After analysing his style, we designed and created our own sculptures using wire to build the frame and modroc to add structure and texture. The finished sculptures demonstrate fantastic resilience, creativity and attention to detail.
