Year 6 had a fantastic day stepping back in time and experiencing what life was like for children during World War II. We were transformed into evacuee children and completed our learning for the day, including maths using old-style money such as shillings and pence, as well as writing activities. Some of us even got told off for being a little too silly! In the afternoon, we explored rationing and discovered how difficult it could be to make a small amount of money last for an entire week, carefully choosing what we could afford without spending it all at once. It was a brilliant and memorable day, and we learnt lots about what everyday life was really like during WWII!
