Dr. Xargle's "Book of Earth Hounds" has been the Literacy inspiration for Year 3. In this book, an alien, Dr. Xargle, teaches his class about the creatures we know as "dogs," referring to them as "Earth Hounds." The children have started to create their own set of instructions on how to care for these creatures, with their very own "Earth Hounds" watching them extremely closely.
