When we came to school, we were transported back in time to October 1940 - the Blitz had begun.

We spent the day as evacuees and had to attend our new school for the morning. We learnt about war precautions, old money and rationing. In the afternoon, we took our ration books to the dairy, butcher and greengrocer. We soon found out how far our rations would stretch!
