Thank You for Supporting Our Fun Walk!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent Fun Walk – we’re thrilled to announce that we raised an incredible £2127!
This amazing total will be shared between CHEXS and our school, helping to support valuable projects and resources for our children.
We are so grateful for your generosity and community spirit – what a fantastic achievement!
Five pupils in Year 5 have been selected to take part in an exciting new Computer Science Project organised by CHEXS in collaboration with Google and the Royal Institution (Ri).
During five sessions held this term, the children will explore 'Robotics and Programming' using Micro Bots and Bitbots in fun, hands-on workshops. During the workshops, the children will build confidence, explore the world of computing, and unlock their potential in the digital space.
We’re excited to let you know that at the end of September, our school will be taking part in a special CHEXS Fun Walk to raise money for both our school and CHEXS.
The event will take place during the week beginning 29th September and will give every child the chance to complete as many laps as they can around our school field / playground – all while being sponsored by friends and family to support two great causes.
On Thursday 18th September, Year 6 travelled back in time to 1940 and experienced what school was like for evacuee children during WW2.
Year 4 had an amazing day exploring the exhibits in the Science Museum Wonder Lab. The children experienced a range of different experiments, from controlling sound waves to building bridges and photographing water drops.
We’re thrilled to announce that our newly transformed outside learning area for Year One is now ready for action! What was once an underused space has been reimagined into a vibrant, interactive zone designed to spark imagination and support physical development.
Children can now enjoy:
✅ Soft artificial grass for safe and comfortable play
💧 A water play area to explore and experiment
🪨 A gravel pulley system to encourage teamwork and problem-solving
🧗♂️ A trim trail to build strength and develop gross motor skills
A huge thank you to FABS for their generous support in bringing this project to life and to Billy Dizenzo (Site Manager) for all of his hard work.
We can’t wait to see our Year One pupil's diving into play and making the most of this exciting new space!
On Monday 16th June, the children in the Growth Group worked with some residents from a local retirement centre, Emmanuel Lodge B3 Living. The impact was incredibly powerful, with both generations connecting through conversation, games, shared gardening, and creative activities.
The children were a real credit to the school and working with CHEXS gave them a valuable opportunity to build empathy, confidence and a sense of community.
The feedback has been heart-warming:
“Today was the best day ever – we helped clean their garden, they were so proud of us.”
“I liked hearing about their lives and making them feel less lonely.”
And from the residents:
“They brought such energy and kindness – it was lovely to feel listened to and valued.”
Wristbands are now on sale via the School Gateway for the Summer Fete, which allow for unlimited access to three massive inflatables as well as FABS fete games including hook a duck, tombola and more.
