    Email re welcome back

Email sent Friday 4th September 2026

    Dear Parents,

Welcome back to school!  We hope that you and your child have settled well?  It’s always great to hear people greeting each other on the first morning of school and sharing holiday news.  Who would have thought that after weeks of sunshine it would rain so heavily this morning?

    School Uniform

Thank you for responding so positively to our school uniform expectations which are outlined on the school website:

    https://www.burleighschool.co.uk/page/?title=Burleigh+School+Uniform&pid=44

As we have moved to only one PE day a week, we ask that all children have either a Burleigh cardigan or jumper to wear on non-PE days.  Therefore, children should not be wearing a Burleigh fleece or hoodie inside classrooms unless for PE.

To ensure children’s safety at break and lunchtimes, we also ask that the only jewellery worn is a watch and small stud earrings.  Please don’t send your child to school wearing hooped earrings or bracelets.

Summer uniform may be worn until the end of September.

    ‘Meet the Teacher’ Events

Each year, parents are invited to meet their child’s new teacher and hear about the planned curriculum, school trips and expectations for the coming year.  These events last about 30 minutes and consist of a presentation by the teachers followed by questions.  Please do your best to attend.  Dates and times are as follows:

Year 1: Wednesday 16th September at 2.30pm in the Infant Hall

Year 2: Wednesday 16th September at 2.30pm in the Junior Hall

Year 3: Wednesday 16th September at 3.30pm in the Infant Hall

Year 6: Wednesday 16th September at 3.30pm in the Junior Hall

Year 4: Thursday 17th September at 3.30pm in the Infant Hall

Year 5: Thursday 17th September at 3.30pm in the Junior Hall

We look forward to working with you throughout 2026-27.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr Norman
