     Email re welcome Back

Email sent Tuesday 14th April 2026

    Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the summer term.  We are very much looking forward to working with you and your child again.

‘Eat them to defeat them’: To promote our theme of healthy eating, your child will be coming home tonight with a booklet / chart entitled ‘VEG Hunters’ and a sheet with stickers to attach to the chart whenever a vegetable is eaten.  As the booklet says, ‘…even a little lick or a sneaky sniff counts.’  ‘Eat them to defeat them’ is a fun and engaging campaign that encourages children to eat as many vegetables as possible.

Summer Uniform: From the start of the summer term until the end of September, children are welcome to wear Burleigh’s summer uniform: yellow / purple summer dresses or white polo shirts and grey shorts.  NB Some children are continuing to wear jogging bottoms on non-PE days.  Please would you ensure that only grey shorts or trousers are worn when PE is not taking place.

Infant Car Park: As tempting as it is, please do not drive into or walk through the main Infant staff car park.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr Norman

    'Food' Coffee Morning this Thursday

Email sent Saturday 6th June 2026

    Dear Parents,

As we continue our theme of food and healthy eating, and in response to parental feedback from surveys, the Nourish Team will be in school all day on Thursday 11th June.  Their first focus will be to run a coffee morning for parents from 8.40-9.40am in the Infant Hall.  Melanie Glickman, a registered nutritionist, will be showcasing some budget-friendly packed lunches and snack options as well as sharing some tips and tricks on how to encourage children to try new foods.  All parents are very welcome to come along to this event. Just come down the main Infant path and enter the school via the main office.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr Norman
