At Burleigh, every child should consider themselves an artist with a distinctive, unique style.  

The art and design progression map enables a broad and balanced curriculum to be taught - one that encourages observation, self-worth and celebrates individuality through the vision that ‘every child is an artist’.  We have planned a clear progressive path for techniques that enable every child to achieve.  As stated in the National Curriculum, children explore the work of famous artists and, at Burleigh, we provide our children with realistic, diverse and modern examples, mixed with classical works to inspire future artists.  Designed specifically for our children, we have created art & design experiences to motivate young minds and provide them with a curriculum that insists we dream big and open our eyes to the possibilities that art & design empowers.
