The design of our curriculum reflects the importance that we place on our pupils learning about their environment (human and physical) and the practical experiences that they should gain in these areas. Our children are able to develop their fieldwork skills through using the rich local resources we have (e.g. the extensive grounds at Burleigh and Lea Valley Park).

In addition to ensuring that each year group has a fieldwork unit, we have also planned tasks so that they do not all have to be recorded via a written activity. For example, we have included opportunities to debate important issues e.g. deforestation. In doing so, we have created a sequenced and progressive curriculum that enables pupils to develop a real passion for geography and the world around them.
