The music curriculum is a broad and balanced curriculum that encourages confident and creative musicians.  Our curriculum maps show clear progression between year groups and opportunities are provided to revisit some learning in greater depth in later year groups.  We use the 'Charanga' scheme of work to help us to deliver our curriculum as it incorporates a diverse range of genres and composers/artists over the course of each Key Stage.

We believe that it is important for our children to see music as a possible future career or interest.  To facilitate this, the school works with the company 'Rock Steady' to promote a love of music and to build confidence with like-minded children.  We also use the peripatetic service from Hertfordshire and offer individual piano and guitar lessons. This provision is in addition to the strings lessons delivered in Year 3.
