Welcome to Burleigh Primary School. We hope that as you explore our website, you will become as excited and proud of our school as we are. From the outset, we want to make it as clear as possible that everything that happens here is done for the benefit of the children; hence, our strapline: Working together for the good of the children! Our pupils will be the first to tell you that if everyone is working hard on their behalf, they also need to work hard too! But, what does that mean? What does it look like? Our strapline is underpinned by the word ‘M.A.G.I.C.’ Yes, we want all our children to become ‘M.A.G.I.C. learners’. ‘M.A.G.I.C.’ stands for:
These special values, qualities and skills help to bind our school community together. Even our youngest children will confidently tell you what it means to be a ‘M.A.G.I.C. learner’. If anyone demonstrates an outstanding aspect of ‘M.A.G.I.C.’ during the week, they are invited to have ‘Hot chocolate with the Head’ after assembly on a Friday morning. Like most schools, we are currently working hard to make our curriculum as broad and balanced as possible, and greatly value the contribution that everyone associated with the school community has to make. However, it is the fact that we are a ‘M.A.G.I.C.’ school which we believe makes us special and sets us apart from all the other schools.
