Goodbye to Our Ducklings!
Thu 25 Apr 2024Yesterday afternoon we said goodbye to our little ducklings! It was a sad moment, but we are happy in the knowledge that they will live long and happy lives with a wonderful lady on a lovely farm in Sussex. We can even expect photos and updates on their progress as they grow, so keep your eyes peeled for some photos of our ducklings' adventures on the farm! Sounds like the makings of a great book!

Wed 17 Apr 2024Today has been very exciting for the children in EYFS! Two of the ducklings have hatched and another is hatching right now! See the photos below.

Fabulous New Hut!
Tue 16 Apr 2024Thanks to winning the Tesco Blue Token funding, the children have a fabulous new playground hut. Over the Easter break our amazing site manager Billy, worked tirelessly to build a second playground hut down in the year 3 & 4 playground. The children couldn't wait to go outside at breaktime and play in their new outside space!

EYFS Visitors Revealed!
Tue 16 Apr 2024This week EYFS are playing host to five little visitors! Yesterday morning five little duckling eggs arrived for the week. During this time the children will hopefully be able to witness their hatching and care for them until they go back to live on the farm on Thursday next week. Stay tuned for daily updates and videos/photos of their progress.

Tesco Blue Tokens
Wed 06 Mar 2024Wow! A huge thank you to everyone who added their blue Tesco tokens to the Burleigh Primary School containers, situated throughout the local stores. We won the funding! Our wonderful site manager Billy, is currently drawing up plans for two new fabulous wooden huts for our playground/field area. The children love the hut we have, so to be able to build more for them is absolutely fantastic! Once again, a massive thank you!

Sponsored Read & Book Fair
Wed 06 Mar 2024Well done to everyone who participated in the sponsored read for World Book Day, you have all done amazingly well and have raised so much money for the school!
On Friday, Danielle from Usborne books is visiting us again to celebrate our sponsored read and to hand out prizes to the winners of most minutes read and most money raised.
This will then be followed by a fabulous book fair which will be taking place outside the Year 2 classrooms. All classes will visit the book fair throughout the day and parents are welcome to visit the book fair after school.
The book fair will also be open on Monday 11th March and Wednesday 13th March, when parents will be able to visit during parents' evening.
We hope you have all enjoyed taking part in the sponsored read and that you have discovered many new and exciting books.

Jamaican Food Tasting!
Thu 19 Oct 2023Wow! What an amazing turnout for the Jamaican food tasting - we almost ran out of cups! The smells wafting out of the bus shelter were absolutely delicious! The selection of tasty foods available to sample included, corn fritters, vegetable patties, tuna patties, dumplings, plantain, chicken and rice - A huge thank you to Miss Lisa Bogle and her catering company for, very generously, doing this for the children and parents - they absolutely loved it!
