  For our DT topic this term, we planned and created our own moving toys.  We explored cam mechanisms, and learned how different types of cam create different movements.  See photos of the children's moving toys in the gallery below.

  

• Growing Competition!

  Fantastic news - some of our vegetables have started to grow!  Whilst checking our KS2 raised beds this afternoon, we were really happy (and surprised!) to see that the carrots and beetroot have finally started to grow!  Our marigolds are looking very pretty too!

  

• Year 5 Space Projects

  Children in Year 5 have been busy learning about 'Space & our Solar System'. They have studied how the Earth's tilt and its orbit of the sun creates the seasons throughout the year. They have learned that day and night occur as a result of the Earth's rotation on its axis. Children have also written biographies about Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.
