  • Junior Christingle Service

    Wed 18 Dec 2019

On Thursday 12th December, we held our Junior Christingle Service at St Mary's Church, Cheshunt.  It was wonderful to see so many parents, grandparents, and other family and friends supporting the children.  The effort put in at Hymn Pactice

Assembly was evident, as the children's singing was amazing.  One could not fail to be moved by the sight of the lit Christingles coupled with the angelic voices of the children singing Emmanuel!  Well done to the Year 6 children who performed in the Nativity, you were all fantastic!

Thank you to everyone who attended the service.

  • Evacuee Day

    Wed 11 Dec 2019
Last week Year 6 took a step back in time and experienced what life was like for evacuees in 1941.  Through the excellent History Off the Page school experience, the children spent the morning in a 1940's school, writing with ink pens, and among other things, learning what to do during an air raid.  In the afternoon, the children took part in a shopping task.  They were given old money, a ration book and an ID card, they then had to purchase items from a shopping list, managing their money and their rationing stamps!  Two children were given the role of being police officers, and by asking a series of questions, had to identify a German spy hiding amongst the shoppers.  The children had a fantastic day and the whole experience brought to life all they had been learning about life during World War II.
  • Football News!

    Tue 03 Dec 2019
On Friday 29th November, the Burleigh Football team took part in the EFL Kids Cup U11 Football Tournament.  The tournament was hosted by Leyton Orient FC. Our boys finished in the top eight of their heat, which is a very respectable placing!  The team then battled through to the quarter-finals, the gruelling match ended in a 2-2 draw. Sadly, after such a valiant effort, our team lost in a very tense penalty shoot-out, to the eventual winners, Aldersbrook Primary School!  Once again, our boys demonstrated our school values - MAGIC - and were outstanding ambassadors for our school.  Well done to everyone who took part!
