• Wonderful Books from Gemma's Triathlon

  Our Business Manager, Gemma Markham, completed the London Triathlon on the 9th August.  Gemma completed the Olympic distance, so that meant she swam 1.5K in the Royal Victoria Dock, then cycled 40K into Westminster and ran 10K near the Excel centre. 

  Through her Just Giving page Gemma raised an amazing £604 towards books for the school.  In the gallery below is a photo of all the wonderful books that have been purchased with the money Gemma raised.

   

  

• Football Success!

  Huge congratulations to the boys football team for their amazing win yesterday!

  In our first football game of the season, we played a thrilling away match against Downfield School.  It was full of action, excellent defensive play and a showcase of attacking prowess!  The match finished 3-2 to Burleigh!  A huge well done to all the players, they were a real credit to the school and displayed all their MAGIC qualities!  Thank you to all the parents who helped out by taking their children to the match - your help and support is greatly appreciated!

• Burleigh Remembers

  Today, at 11:00am, the children and staff of Burleigh School gathered on the school field and held a two minute silence.  They remembered the fallen soldiers of two World Wars and the many wars and conflicts that have taken place since.  All week the children have been making poppies, learning what life was like at home and what it was like to be a soldier on the front line.  The field was silent as the children stood and showed their respect - we are very proud of each and everyone of them.
