What Do Owls Eat?
On Monday, year 3 were lucky enough to have a fascinating visit from the Be Free Forest School! During the visit the children learnt about the different things barn owls eat. Barn owls swallow their prey whole, as they cannot digest hair and bone, these are regurgitated as pellets. The children dissolved owl pellets in water, and dissected them to investigate what a barn owl had eaten. Things they found included, a shrew's skull, various mouse bones and rodent teeth.
