The Queen's Platinum Jubilee
Today saw Burleigh School celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Lunchtime saw the climax of the celebrations when the whole school assembled on the field for one gigantic picnic (see photo below). After the last morsel of food had been consumed, each class had the opportunity to show-off their costumes to the rest of the school by walking down the red carpet, laid out especially by Billy, our site manager, for the occasion. Initially, we had thought that only the Infants would want to do this; but, by popular demand, all Junior year groups were adamant that they wanted a go too. Thus, the proceedings culminated in an unabashed Year 6 (led by their two teachers) parading down the red carpet en masse.
